My seven year old second grader has started becoming more interested in reading. She’s grown out of early readers and has shown a desire to seek out more age appropriate materials.  I know that since she can sight read quite well that it is important to ensure that her reading comprehension grows along with it.  I wanted an approach to Vocabulary that would appeal to her learning style.  My preferred  features would be a no pressure, fun independent online program, that teaches a number of concepts at a pace that wouldn’t be rushed and could adjust to the skill level of the student. Visual Learning Systems: Digital Science Online {Schoolhouse Crew Review }

Science is one of the most loved school subjects by my children. It’s interesting, hands-on, and exciting. In learning by observation and through experiments they are getting answers to the hows and whys of how things work. Science gives one the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, pursue scientific interest further, and make informative decisions. In understanding the importance of science and its benefits, I’m more than delighted to have discovered Visual Learning Systems, an educational science publisher that offers top-quality visual curriculum for grades Primary all the way through High-school.

As part of the Schoolhouse Crew Review team, I’ve been given the opportunity to share my thoughts upon Visual Learning Systems Digital Science Online: Elementary Edition (Grades K-5) curriculum (Digital Science Online: Secondary Edition (Grades 6-12) is also available). I’d been on the look out for science curriculum to use during the 2015-2016 school year that I could make work for both my children. I was having a hard time deciding, weighing many pros and cons. I’ll admit that this review opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. This particular edition includes primary as well as elementary science which works perfectly for my 4 and 6 year old.
