Batman Party Supplies & 4th Birthday Goodness…

Owen turned 4 today! I’ve heard people say that life tends to fly by and it’s true. My son  is a full fledged young boy now. He’s into the outdoors, super heroes, LEGO, puzzles, music, & art. I’m a proud mommy and eager to see how he develops his gifts and interests.2015-01-081

I like as tough and confident as he can be most days, that he still loves hugs and enjoys plenty of conversation about life. Sometimes his level of intelligence and behavior is well beyond on his years  and that pulls at me knowing my kids are growing up  and quicker than I’d like.  I say be a kid as long as you can, don’t hurry to grow up so fast.

Owen had a great birthday! The cake we had specially made matched the Batman party decor we used perfectly. Owen was so surprised and said he loved everything especially the foil balloons ( we got those filled at our local grocer) and the centerpiece with turn-able parts . The decorations really added to all the excitement. Everything from the banners to the dining ware was high quality for party supplies! I was quite impressed.

What was in our set?

  • A centerpiece with Batman and his Batcave computer
  • One die cut shaped balloon
  • Two 18 inch foil balloons
  • A Happy Birthday banner
  • A table cover
  • Eight each of cake plates, dinner plates, cups, masks and 32 napkins.
  • Also included are 8 spoons, forks and knives in complementing blue, birthday candles, blue curling ribbon and 30-foot solid color streamers in blue and orange.

The one thing about liking Batman is that there’s so many different themes whether you are one for throwing a  Lego Batman 3  or any other type of Gotham City Parties.  Batman themes vary in color, specific bat-suits, and more and I feel they will never go out of style.  I guarantee we’ll be throwing a Batman themed party again.

Our party dinner was take out Chinese per request of the little man. His birthday cake was dark chocolate! The cake was rich and not overly sweet and so much better than those with frosting so sweet you think you’ll get sick if you eat much more.

To go along with the Batman theme my son received a LEGO Juniors Batman: Defend the Bat Cave set and Batman LOGO t-shirt from my husband and I.  Gifts were well recieved and he was thrilled to add to his ever growing LEGO collection. He said it was the best birthday ever.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received the party set for review purposes. The opinions are my own or my immediate family members, based on our personal experience with the product.

Halloween Adventure Boys Costumes: Thomas the Tank Engine {Review}

Halloween is right around the corner! If you haven’t gotten on the costume bandwagon yet, I’d encourage selection to happen pretty soon before stores are sold out! There’s nothing worse than a disappointed kid (or parent!) with a minimal selection of left overs costumes to pick from. And hey if you are the creative type and into making your own costumes, I’m sure there’s possibly a prop, wig, or some other item you’ll want to purchase to complete your outfit. Often even local stores now might not have what you may be looking for and this is why I love shopping online!

My son age 2 though nearly 3 can’t wait for Halloween. He’s so excited about getting candy, decorating pumpkins, and dressing up with friends. When I asked him what he wanted to dress up for I already knew what the answer was going to be. He shouted “Thomas!”.

My little lover of trains just had to have a costume of his favorite character. While looking through the boys costumes, I was thrilled to see quite the selection  at Halloween Adventure of train themed costumes from conductors, engineers, dinosaur train, and of course those of everyone’s favorite little blue engine Thomas the Tank!

I opted for my son to dress up in the Children’s Thomas the Tank Engine Candy Catcher Costume. It’s unique design really caught my attention. After selection, the costume arrived rather quickly with same day shipping! I had pondered if the costume would be too big for my son but it fit just right! It says it fits children up to the age of six year olds. Time will tell how many more years we might possibly get out of it. He was super thrilled to see the costume and wanted to try it on right away.

Parenting approval is that I really like the Thomas costume has enough give to dress my son up in layers and keep him warm if it happens to be cool out when are out trick or treating. The hat fits perfectly and what’s a really neat feature about this costume is that your child can carry all their candy directly into the built in front pouch. There will be no spilled treat buckets or bags when racing off to the next house.  Continue reading
