Flock and Fiber Festival 2016!

Last month, my family and I made our annual trip to the local fiber festival. This year the festival was celebrating its 20th year! I always enjoy going to see the sights! I’ll admit I haven’t done very many fiber crafts this year. Adjusting to the baby has been trying at times but it’s gotten better. I did manage to knit her a rose pink Sandoval hat to keep her little noggin warm during the Fall and Winter season. A Special Spot in Astoria Oregon

Coffee Girl located on Pier 39 in Astoria, Oregon was recommend to me by a fellow homeschooler and blogging friend I know through Facebook! I love connecting with people and finding out about neat places to visit! I had a great experience visiting this place with my family! We almost missed getting coffee though as Coffee Girl is open early in the morning and closes late afternoon (4pm).  If you plan on going, please keep that in mind. Continue reading

Summer Field Trip: Graham Oaks Nature Park

This month we took a field trip to a local Nature Park during a special event! At this event, the kids got to build mason bee boxes,  learn about many different plants growing in the park, take part in a scavenger hunt, learn about recycling, practice their nature journaling, enjoy a free slice of berry pie, and so much more! It was a wonderful day out and even Grandma and Grandpa Lowmaster came to take in the fun festivities with us.  Continue reading
