My daughters comfort is always first when it comes to picking out shoes. She started walking at nine months old and now she’s pretty close to full on running. So you can see how important it is for me as her mother to try to find the right kind of shoe with her roaming all over the place. As with picking out any shoes, I’m willing to sacrifice style and good looks for shoes that won’t be hurting or putting any strain my daughter’s feet. I was able to review the Dorothy sandals from See Kai Run line for my daughter Melody. I love these shoes! They are quite the distinctive black sandal with adorable little white polka dots fashioned in a fun wave with a white lined trim! Fashion set aside, these shoes are Handcrafted from butter-soft sheepskin leather, with a Flexible rubber sole – healthy for developing feet but sturdy enough for outdoor play, Generous width and wide toe box for plenty of wiggle room, Padded collars for extra comfort, Adjustable Velcro closures make theses shoes easy to get on and ensure a great fit, and breathable leather insole and lining! What more could you possibly ask for in a shoe? …and the answer is you can’t! These shoes meet the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality! Yes that’s right, See Kai Run has been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance.

See Kai Run offers a wide range of sizes, smaller 0-18 mo, see kai run for kids 6-3 years, and now eleven for ages 3-8 years! It won’t be hard to purchase any pair of these shoes as I can shop in confidence knowing I’m making the best choice, but it will be hard in choosing which pair of shoes to buy. The wide variety of colors and styles make is slightly difficult but that means they certainly have something for everyone!

I support companies that are giving back one hundred percent! It’s important in trying to reach others in what you do and See Kai Run is doing just that. They have a promotion that goes on a few times a year where every pair of shoes that is purchased, another pair is donated to Soles4soles. This is an organization that delivers shoes to children, and adults who are in need. In November/December 2008 during another “Share a Pair” matching event, See Kai Run donated over 9700 pairs toSoles4Souls.

Nana Star and Moon Man Review and Giveaway!

I recently was given the opportunity to review many of the products associated with Nana Star an award winning series of children books. These books were written by two sisters, Elizabeth and Elena Sills and the books were illustrated by their mother Linda Saker. I love when families works together in bringing together something that promotes positive virtues and character-building points and traits that are important for children.

The first book book, “Nana Star” tells the story of Nana Star whom is a little girl venturing out to bring a lost baby star back home. I find the stories simple enough for young children to understand on their own but challenging enough as well to bring questions to the table.

The second book ” Nana Star and the Moon man” is the next in the series. It picks up where the last book left off. Nana is trying to get the little star back home but finds herself lost in the dark and this where the moon man comes in. He encourages her to know he is there to guide and watch her along the way even if she can’t see him.

Each of the books comes with a companion CD witch features sing along songs along with the full story so your kids can listen anytime they want. The stories that they’ve brought to life are quite simple keeping them geared toward 3-7 year olds.

I wanted to also mention that each book, includes a mistake in the text for young readers to find. When children send Nana Star a note correcting the mistake, they become special members of her Little Twinkles Club. Each member receives an autographed photo of the real Nana Star with a personalized message, as well as a certificate of membership.

I love the plush toys that came along with my books as they are incredibly lovable and hugable. My daughter loves dragging the Moon man toy around the house with her throughout the day and she dances when I push the star on his stomach and music begins to play. It’s too cute. The Nana Star rag doll is a wonderful companion for young girls. She’s pose able and soft so she can even become a sleeping companion for your child or even the next guest at her tea parties.

I’m all for companies that give back to the community and Nana Star does just that by giving a portion of all book and merchandise sales directly to the Nana Star Foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds for terminally ill children and raising awareness of the crippling problems facing children that attend under-resourced, inner-city schools. The Nana Star books are distributed to hospitals and inner-city schools throughout the United States.

Skoy Cloths

I’m a mom who’s on the mission of going green in my day to day life. I cloth diaper my baby, I use totes when shopping, I use energy saving appliances, and I use Eco friendly cleaning supplies. So you can bet when I learned about the earth friendly Skoy cloths, I was ecstatic.

Basically the Skoy Cloth is an Eco friendly alternative to using paper towels and sponges. I was never really huge on using sponges as I know how much disgusting bacteria they can hold. Just writing that sentence makes me shudder at the thought. The Skoy unlike regular sponges dries incredibly quickly so it’s less likely to get lots of bacteria. You can also easily throw it in the washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave (1-2 minutes) to refresh it and keep it healthy and germ free.

Skoy Cloths are 100% Biodegradable made from natural cotton and wood based cellulose pulp. The feel of this cloth is like soft card board and the bottom is textured which helps give it scrubbing power. Measuring in at 7×7 this cloth is perfect fit for my hand too, not to big and not to little. You can also use popular household cleaners as well as just water.

The Skoy cloth has the ability to absorb fifteen times its own weight! This is great for when drinks may get knocked over, which can happen quite easily when you have a child at home.

One Skoy Cloth can keep 15 rolls of paper towels out of the landfills! I feel bad for buying paper towels in bulk at Costco. I honestly didn’t use paper towels much before and we ended up having to store them in various place in our home! Skoys take up no room at all which is good if you are a family of three living in a small apartment.

I’ve been using my Skoys for everything! I’ve assigned one to the kitchen stove and counter tops, another to the bathroom, one to the windows and mirrors, and the fourth one I received to my child’s high chair and dining table! I haven’t’ found anything I don’t like about these cloths. I’m going to be moving in a few weeks and they are going to be used a whole lot to get this place spic and span for sure.
