Egg-cellent News!

At 19 1/2 weeks old, our Golden Sex Link chicken “Goldie” laid an egg. This is the first egg from our flock of six chickens. ┬áThe excitement from our household can’t be covered in writing, you just had to be here. The kids are beyond thrilled and I’m happy all of our hard work is paying off. We are hoping the first egg brings on more. Time will tell in who else will start laying soon. The goal for us is to be able to share with friends/family and not have to purchase eggs from the grocery store if we can help it.

I appreciate the work the authors have done in taking something as simple as an Egg and spotlighted it’s wonderful diversity to please even the most picky of palettes. Continue reading
