Food is usually amongst the center in celebrating many holidays and traditions. A little knowledge about the origins of certain foods & dishes of our country can always be fun to share amongst friends, family, and other peers. A recommended book to serve this purpose would most certainly be The American Plate A Culinary History in 100 Bites by Libby H. O’connell. It gives one a quick historical look at the foods that many American’s have come to know and perhaps love over the years starting with American Indian Food before Columbus and ending with American Foods of Today. Around the World with Kate and Mack {Book Review}


Around the World with Kate and Mack is an exciting book that my whole family has been enjoying over the last few months! Wycliffe Bible Translators released this title in the hopes to introduce Bible translation and its importance to children of all ages. I believe they’ve hit the mark in an exciting way!

This book takes readers all around the world following Kate and her bird Mack. The two teach us about different cultures, languages, countries, and facts that are fun and unique. I’ve been reading this book to my 4 and 6 year old. They told me the like the colorful illustrations and learning about different places in the world. I think the illustrations are excellent. Continue reading
