PakNaks Review

lamp
PakNaks are so cool, I even as a mommy loves them! I was going back and forth trying to figure out what to put mine on.

Let me tell you a little bit about PakNaks. Basically, they are super cute soft rubbery 3-d decorations for kids (or adults like me). They can be put on backpacks, lunch bags, headbands, computer bags, household items, and whatever else you would want to put them on! . They are very easy to attach, just peel and stick! You can change out your PakNaks to for a new look as they are attached with fuzzy coins.

I found it neat that “PakNak is a mom-owned business based in Portland, Oregon. That’s pretty much right down the street from me! They set out to create age appropriate designs for school-aged children and I would say they’ve done the job. They are even great for those of you who are like me and always thinking green being made from recycled plastic.

I received Isaac the turtle and Powder the flower to review. My husband has a website called the Space Turtle so naturally he loves the turtle and of course I love the flower! What’s neat about the PakNaks is that they each have some information about themselves from home, favorite Food, best friend, and favorite activity. This makes it fun for your kids boy or girl alike to collect them.

So if you are looking for something fun and decorative for your kids, grand kids, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, or yourself, why not check out PakNacks.

I’ll be having a a PaNak giveaway this Friday so be sure to come by and enter to win your very own. They’ll be 4 winners with a chance to win 3 PakNaks each!

The Baby Bistro Box Review

bbbox_2ndbanner

I recently was given the opportunity to review a wonderful company called Baby Bistro. Without a doubt, they have made me more confident in feeding my child as parent.

I remember when my daughter was able to start eating solids. I asked my pediatrician about what she should be eating and all she did was give me a not informative enough pamphlet handout and tell me about how easy it was to pick out foods in the baby food aisle of my grocery store. Well, this was okay advice but I was planning on making my own baby food and I needed a little bit more help.

I searched all over the internet to learn what my child should be eating when and how much I should be giving her.  bbb_menu_newEveryplace was different and lacking the information that I needed. Due to this, I have a huge disorganized binder full of feeding information and I never am able to find what I need at the right time.

Christine the founder of Baby Bistro Brands is a genius! When her sister had a baby, she also like me found that there was not just one single place to get all of her questions about nutrition for her child answered. Thus the  Baby Bistro Brand was created with the help of her master’s degree in nutrition and also with her four generations of knowledge. She was able to create products to advise those on feeding babies and toddlers.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Baby Bistro Box (0-12 months). It includes safety rules, shopping tips, numerous recipes, and prenatal suggestions. The information is arranged in a convenient recipe card format which allows you to find the information you want, when you need it! I found that questions I’ve had about allergies and foods to avoid giving my child have all been answered for me in this box. This would have been really helpful to me months and months ago!

I took the Shopping Simplicity cards in the box with me to the grocery store last week and it made shopping for my daughter so much easier! I turned from a scatter brained mommy to a more level headed confident mom, which is a great feeling! It has changed the way I feed my child and has made my life so much easier! This box has saved me a lot of time and money!

The Baby Bistro Box would be a great baby Shower gift for a new mom. Remember, it also has prenatal information for new moms! I was not disappointed in this box in the least and I guarantee you won’t be either.toddler_box

They also have a toddler bistro box for ages 1-3. This one is on my list to get next since my daughter will be turning one in only three more months!

Buy It: The Baby Bistro Box and the Toddler Bistro Box cost $27.95 each and can be purchased online at Baby Bistro Brands. They are also available at Whole Foods Markets and a variety of other stores nationwide.

The Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox Review

toolbox2
When I heard about the Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox it sparked my interest quite a bit! What is it you ask? This toolbox, so to speak is a fun yet useful gift for any dad or new to be daddy! Now I know how baby showers go, usually it’s just us woman sitting around oooing and aaahing over all the cute little bibs, blankies, and booties! But what about Dad? I know most men really don’t care to show up at the baby showers and usually they aren’t allowed.  I always thought the rule where they weren’t allowed to come wasn’t very great… Dad is going to be just as much a part of babies life as mom is going to be, this is why I think this gift is so great. Most of the time Mom gets things and baby gets things for the shower and then Dad gets left out, this box changes that.

My husband although he’s been a dad for about nine months now was quite interested in this toolbox and he even daddydtoolmodeled some of the fun items found in the box just for me and you! I find this picture completely hilarious and what I wouldn’t give to see more daddy’s dressed up and using most of all the attire of the Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox !

I read over all the item descriptions when I first received it and literally I was cracking up!

So, what’s inside?

Gift includes:

* Mask —toxic fume filter for when it doesn’t smell like roses.
* Goggles —for protection against your own mini version of Old Faithful.

* Turkey Baster —for precision hiney washing.

All these things in the toolbox can be used for more than just this fun gag gift! Breezy Bags Review

fivefullbags
I’ve taken the plunge on going green! I cloth diaper my baby, light my home with CFL light bulbs,  I wash my clothes in cold water, line dry when I can, recycle, and I use totes when I go grocery shopping. Now the last thing I mentioned, I used to struggle with. My husband and I purchased totes from a grocery store but they always never ended up going back with us. We’d end up leaving them at home due to naturally forgetting them.  Then something great happened, I learned about Breezy Bags! These bags are not like most grocery store tote bags, these bags fold up and they can fit easily into my purse, diaper bag, pocket, or on my husbands belt loop since they have a nice little clip.

Breezy Bags in Olive Green

I received a pouch of five Olive Green breezy bags to test out. I took them for a spin yesterday while out grocery shopping and let me tell you, these bags did the job! All my groceries for the next few weeks fit into these bags perfectly.  I was taken by surprise that these bags can hold up to 15lbs each! They look so thin and frail but looks can be deceiving! After my grocery shopping trip, I easily folded these bags back up, put them in the pouch and tossed them back in my purse, ready for the next shopping trip!  I don’t think I’ll have a problem having my eco friendly bags on the ready ever again!

These  bags come in a variety of solid colors, they also have were you can add your business logo, which I found pretty neat. You can buy one set of bags for 16.99 or two for 30.00.  It’s really a great deal! We’ll probably end up getting another set so my husband can keep some in the cup holder of his car and I can always keep mine in my purse.

Breezy Bags are solidly stitched out of maximum strength, minimum weight rip stop nylon cloth , to be the most versatile, eco-friendly, green reusable bags and totes imaginable: for all your shopping, storage and toting needs. If these grocery bags get damp, they dry in minutes. They may be machine washed in cold water and hung to dry.

They come with a 1 year limited warranty against defects of material or workmanship, and if you are unhappy with your Breezy Bags for any reason at all, you can contact them within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund.

And if you haven’t taken the green plunge yet, here’s some interesting fact that I’d like share:

In the U.S. we use around 270,000,000 plastic shopping bags in a single day.

One person uses more than 325 plastic shopping bags per year.

A family of four will use more than 1200 per year.

Only 1% of plastic bags get recycled.

700 plastic bags will be used in the life span of one reusable bag.

Paper bags are no better because they use more energy to produce than plastic.

There are over 100,000 marine deaths per year due to plastic bag ingestion.

It takes 1000 years for a single plastic bag to break down in a land fill.

Plastic bags do not biodegrade, they photodegrade. This means they are broken down by light and heat, which causes them to leach harmful toxins into the environment.

So if you are like me and naturally forget your other reusable shopping bags or you want to start thing more GREEN,  get yourself some Breezy Bags today… trust me, you won’t regret it!
