I had been looking for a jacket/coat that I wouldn’t have to give up wearing after I’ve had my baby and the search has been tedious! I got suggestions from friends and family to buy a size larger of what I would normally wear to accommodate my bump but in being petite in size those option left me swimming in a too heavy, too long, largely frumpy coat. So what’s a girl to do? Break down and get a maternity coat that I’d likely only wear for 3-4 months? I just didn’t feel the investment was a friend to my budget. I am sure most would agree that in buying a good quality coat that the quantity of use should last for a good amount of time not merely a few months. Continue reading
I sort of have a healthy obsession with Smart Mom Jewelry. And am beyond thrilled my latest Zebra printed pendant and Mother of Pearl bangle which are the latest additions to purchase!
I was introduced to this mom and baby friendly jewelry three years ago when my first child was born and to this day my collection has grown drastically which isn’t a bad thing since I plan on having more children that’ll get good use out of it!
Now if you know nothing about this line of jewelry you should know it was specifically created to keep mom fashionable without having to worry about baby choking or chewing on potentially unsafe accessories and to keep your baby during the whole teething phase. I think these necklaces & bangles are genius because we all know once your little one can get a hold of things that it’s going directly into their mouth.
The Smart Mom Jewelry line is great! They have a variety of styles and colors to choose from. I like how the styles mimic those ever popular stone circle pendants. I had lots of people appalled at me at first because that thought I was letting my daughter chew on stone. They were relieved after I explained to them what my child was chewing on and thought the idea of it was ingenious! I like these so much that I wear them even when I don’t have my daughter with me and was even complimented on them. I was quite amused and pleased that people couldn’t tell the difference!
Smart Mom Jewelry also has pretty cute heart pendants, bangle bracelets, and even key chains! These pieces are safe for your baby or toddler to teeth and tug on. All pieces are non-toxic, phthalate, BPA, PVC, lead free, and even dishwasher friendly. All the pendants come with a breakaway clasp as an added safety feature. Though you should never leave your child alone with a pendant due to safety reasons.
This jewelry has made me happy were I can accessorize and not worry about the safety of my child. I’m a baby wearing mom so my children are usually always pretty close to me. These accessories have made both my children pretty happy too because neither of my children are given a pacifier so they had nothing to chew on while I was carrying them around before.
I would have to say that the hardest part about purchasing this jewelry is picking it out due to the gorgeous variety! I can purchase happily knowing also that a percentage of all retail sales goes to CureSearch and Dress for Success, two great charitable organizations.

I’d like to introduce you to Motherlove, a herbal company that just celebrated it’s 20th birthday. This company is dedicated to making and offering naturally safe and effective products for mothers.
Products available at Motherlove include those for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and babies, which are all formulated to soothe and nurture both body and soul. I was very pleased to see that all of their products rated zero on Skin Deep for toxicity which is the lowest possible rating!
This is a company that also gives back to the community by offering over 10% of after tax profits to the Nurturing Life Foundation. This foundation is set to assist mothers in need promoting benefits of breastfeeding and create greater opportunities for children.
Being one to lean toward using skin care products that use organic ingredients I was given the opportunity to review a couple of products from Motherlove to not only use for myself but to also share with my readers here at Connecte2Christ.
The two products I’m here to share my thoughts on today are Motherlove’s Diaper Rash and Thrush Salve and Green Salve. One is a must have product if you have a little one in your home and the other is perfect for the entire family.
Motherlove’s Diaper Rash and Thrush Salve is a product I plan on turning to for all my diaper rash needs! I cloth diaper baby so we rarely see rashes but on occasion a little redness can occur which is quite undesirable for my little guy. A need to know is that typical diaper rash creams on the market aren’t recommended for cloth diapering because it can cause unwanted build up on your diapers because of the zinc they contain. It’s just really difficult to get that stuff to wash out and it’ll leave diapers needing to be stripped and having to be replaced a lot sooner than it should be!
The Diaper Rash salve from Motherlove is completely cloth diaper safe as it contains no zinc whatsoever. I used this on my son last week and the redness on his little bum cleared up within a few hours, talk about fast and super effective! This salve is available in a 1 ounce container making it the perfect size to just throw in a diaper bag without taking up much space. And though it only comes in 1 ounce know that a little will most definitely go a long way.
The Green Salve from Motherlove, I’m equally impressed with! This product works well for taking the itch out of insect bites, bee stings and poison ivy. It also is great for soothing the discomforts of rashes, chapped and irritated skin.
During the winter, my lips get pretty chapped so I decided to try the Green Salve out on my lips. It worked wonderfully re hydrating my lips and easing any discomfort I had! I honestly am very glad to have the salve on hand for when any bug bites occur and also for any other unwanted skin discomfort my family and I may suffer from.
Overall I encourage you to check out Motherlove for a number of great products for mothers and babies. I found everything reasonably priced starting at $8.50 and up. They have a nice set up whether you want to purchase one product or a gift set for yourself or for someone you know.
Motherlove is generously offering two of my readers either the Green Salve or the Diaper Rash and Thrush salve. Winners choice! US only please.

I was able to review a set of Pocket Dots for myself and they couldn’t have arrived at a better time! The color I was sent from the two available is nude which perfect to wear with all my natural or white bands, khakis, and light colored pants.
How they work is that you attach one end to your back or front pocket and the other to your under-shirt or belly band. The little plastic teeth grip the material with no worries of snagging and ruining it.
I have a few undershirts to keep me covered when I’m nursing my son but lately they keep riding up. Once I started using Pocket Dots with these tops, I’ve no longer had that issue!
The only problem I did have is that when I was next to counter and rubbed up against it, the Pocket Dots popped off. But other than that, these work wonderfully and I’ve had no other issue.
-Buy it- Pocket Dots are available in two colors and are for sell at http://pocketdots.com/ for 6.95 a set.
