My Kids Can’t Get Enough KALE!

Kale Is Among The Most Nutrient-Dense Foods on The Planet

Early Summer, I planted a good number 10+ Dinosaur Kale plants into our community garden. It was ready to pluck this week with the heat creeping higher. It doesn’t like over 90 degree weather and we are getting 100’s this weekend. A good rule of thumb is to harvest it when it’s about 10 inches high. In taking off the outer leaves, the plant will produce more inner leaves and a larger harvest.

I know some don’t like Kale but I do! You can eat it raw, saute it, dehydrate and bake it. One way I alter Kale up for my family is by presenting it to them in a snack format that is great for at home or for all those on the go travels and adventures.

Panda Pots™ Reusable Plant Cups {Review}

DSCN2786

Panda Pots™ Reusable Plant Cups are of top quality. Each are made in the USA out of 100% recycled plastic! These are generously sized at 3″ in diameter and 2.75″ deep. The sizing provides a step up from using certain plant trays that can over time get expensive and somewhat troublesome to use. I’ve found that in using too small of a start, it often does not allow enough room for a seedling to grow before transplanting it into the ground or a larger pot. Aside from using these pots for starters, I’ve found that the sizing allows for a primary home for smaller plants such as succulents and herbs.  Continue reading

Alpine Blue Fairy Statue with Solar Light {Garden Decor Review }

DSCN2444
The Alpine Blue Fairy Statue with Solar Light adds an extra special something to my herb garden.  The painted detail mimics the style you would likely find in an illustrated storybook filled with fantastical tales of mythical fantasy lands. The statue is made out of a cast stone resin which seems very durable. I keep it mainly outdoors and have had it get wet, withstand the hot and cold and still look like new.  Continue reading
