A hands-on museum that inspires wonder in people of all ages!

My husband had a three day weekend, thanks to the birthday of our country. We took advantage by doing some local things. We had hoped to venture to the Oregon Coast but our car battery died earlier this week and the money just wasn’t in the budget to take that trip.

We visited the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry Friday morning. We had fun exploring the various exhibits, especially the CSI Experience that’s running till mid September!  It’s pretty neat to have a sort of hands on idea of what steps it takes to solve several different crime scene situations.

They have a Science playground  area for young children and we let Melody explore around there. She had a lot of fun wandering about. I think it’s great they have an area for children six years old and younger. It was a pretty neat area that had a sand and water area, puppets, and more for wandering little minds to discover.

I can finally say that I’ve experienced the IMAX! Basically the IMAX is a giant domed screen, with surround sound! When I say giant, I mean it! It measures in at a five-story domed screen covering 6,532 sq. ft. of projection surface! The  2D IMAX projection system  uses the largest frame in the motion picture industry. Each frame is ten times the size of standard 35mm film! It was pretty awesome being surrounded by such cinematic action!

We saw the Wild Ocean documentary that explores the interplay between man and our endangered ocean ecosystem. The film highlights one of nature’s greatest migration spectacles, plunging viewers into an underwater feeding frenzy, an epic struggle for survival where whales, sharks, dolphins, seals, gannets and millions of fish collide with the most voracious sea predator, mankind.

Filmed off the Wild Coast of South Africa and set to the rhythm of the local people, Wild Ocean reveals the economic and cultural impact of the ocean while celebrating the communal efforts to protect our invaluable marine resources. Wild Ocean is a timely and uplifting film that celebrates the life in our oceans, the animals that now depend on us to survive. It is a film about the people that come together to protect our world. Hope is alive on the Wild Coast, where Africa meets the sea.

The movie wasn’t quite what I expected but I really enjoyed it! The IMAX expericance was awesome and hope to go back soon to see thir other featured movie Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure. Melody quite enjoyed it too!

To Be Safe

I’m not going to be around online tomorrow due to the big April 1st worm! You can’t be to careful though I know my husband is thinking nothing of it and going on his computer anyways. It’s reported to be the biggest worm in history to date… so you can’t ignore the facts and with what happened last year too!

So, I’ll probably be reading a book and packing up some more things and then watching some LOST tomorrow. 🙂

Until my next post, stay safe and I would recommend you heed the warning too!

The Wonderwash

I happened across a Wonderwasher today and boy how I could use one! I was so excited that I visited the site and read everything I could about it. I love how it’s  a space saving, time saving, energy saving Green Clean solution for all my laundry needs!
The Wonderwash and the  Mini Countertop Spin Dryer would make my life so much easier for washing my daughters clothes, especially her cloth diapers! We are going to be moving soon and we are going to be without a washer and dryer until we can find the money to afford them and something like this that’s less expensive would be great to have.  I go through my own process when washing my daughters diapers and it would be incredibly inconvenient to use a local laundry mat for this.  I have grown to like the idea of using this over a regular washer and dryer for my daughter’s clothes and diapers as it  cleans a five pound load in just minutes using less water and detergent than even hand washing!  If you’d like to check out the Wonderwash for yourself, you can find it here:

After thought: Hey, with this I won’t lose socks anymore!

Over the weekend

Over the weekend my DH, DD, and I went out with our life group. We spent time over at a sports/game club called “Players” but we didn’t get to play anything because they were way to busy. So everyone decided on going to a restaurant called” Claim Jumper” for dessert.  I had never been to Claim Jumper before.  What blew my mind is that they have this huge ten layer cake that you can order a slice from! I wasn’t’ up for that much cake so I just had a hot fudge sundae instead ( pictured above).  It was pretty yummy.

The Superbowl was really good, much better than last years game in my opinion! My favorite commercial was the cute little bug one by Coke! I really enjoyed the little grasshoppers, it brought back lots of childhood memories.  Here’s the commercial again just in case you missed it!

I’ve been working on getting more organized since I’ll be doing more reviews, giveaways, and graphic design this year! It’s been a very productive year for me and by this I am blessed. I’ve been a little busier but I always make sure to make the time for my family. 🙂 Buiser it better than naught and with being busy it means being more productive.
