Fingerless Gloves for my Husband

I finished a pair of fingerless gloves for my husband last week. This was my own pattern and to get accurate measurements before casting on, I had my husband trace his hand on a sheet of paper ( and crossed my fingers things would add up!). Overall results is that this will be a go to pattern for future fingerless gloves for any guy ( or girl).  The ribbed stitch pattern I used gave these gloves plenty of stretch yet they also fit snuggly. No one likes a pair of gloves that are too thick.

My husband can wear these quite often and I’m pleased that they’ll give warmth without over heating whether video gaming, board game playing, driving the car, going for walk,  strumming the guitar, texting ,or whatever else. Fingerless gloves are a quick knit and make for a great gift (especially with the Holidays sneaking up on us)!

I also sell knitted items over on Etsy. If you are interested in a pair of fingerless gloves for child, teen, woman, or guy, I sell them for $15.00 each. You can leave me a message as I also offer discounts for multiple pairs.

If you loom knit, you can purchase this pattern from my Etsy shop!

Photo Finish Friday : Ladies Ridged Lace Hat and Mobius Scarf

I guess I should be thankful that the Autumn weather hasn’t quite arrived just yet in Oregon (we literally had 90 degree weather a couple of days ago) . Due to this, I was able to finish for myself a hat and scarf to wear when out and about.  The pattern for the hat was in my opinion really easy to do, though this is coming from someone who has loom knitted for over a year now. The pattern is labeled as intermediate and can be found in the book I Can’t Believe I’m Loom Knitting. This particular book is well worth getting, there are many appealing projects inside such as hats, scarves, felted totes,  vests, gloves, and more for the beginner to the more advanced.

The scarf pattern I used can be found in Learn to Knit on Long Looms. This scarf went really quickly and looks great with the hat in my opinion. It will be a pattern I go back to again and again for quick knit infinity scarves! Again this book is must have if you have any sort of long looms and want to learn or expand on your skills.

I am almost never not knitting. If I have a moment of free time you’ll find me knitting away at projects. I plan on working up some toys for my kids for Christmas this year but not starting till October. Next weekend I plan on attending the Canby Oregon Fiber and Flock Festival. Can’t wait, it should be really fun. I feel I will enjoy it more this year compared to last because my knowledge of yarns, knitting, and other fiber arts has expanded quite a bit since I went last year.

I’m currently working on weaving some place mats for my dining room table and I also plan on casting on some mittens for my kids! So many things to knit and so little time! I wonder how many of my readers work with yarn in one way or another…..

Are you a knitter, crocheter, weaver, or other type of fiber artist? If so, feel free to friend me on Ravelry!  You can also find me on Etsy at Epic Yarns
