The Cowlitz County Fair and Rodeo in Longview, WA, nestled in the picturesque Southwest Washington, was an absolute delight to visit this year!
The event, which is completely free to everyone, is typically held during the last week of July and spans three consecutive days. It offers the community and the surrounding area an abundance of activities, shows, arts, carnival rides, vendors, and more to enjoy.
Taking care of the environment and being mindful of our impact on the planet is crucial. The community of Scappoose, Oregon set a great example of this when hosting its annual Earth Day festival early this spring season.
On April 20th, the event took place at Heritage Park and is held yearly. This event is absolutely free for all, with no charges for entrance or parking. You could bring a lunch but it is not needed as they offered no-cost hotdogs, hamburgers, and pizza.
Annually, the Columbia Pacific Food Bank plays a vital role in the global fight against hunger and food insecurity through an impactful fundraiser known as Empty Bowls.
This year was the first time I proudly took part in raising funds for the St. Helens-based food bank, a crucial effort that directly supports our local community through this event.
