By James A. Beverley

A Comprehensive Introduction to the Religions of the World

“Professor Beverley is on of the major Christian leaders in the study and analysis of new and world religions. His Nelson’s Illustrated Guide to Religions is an important addition to my library.” – Gary R. Habermas
Distinguished Research Professor, Liberty University

First and foremost, I believe you should know that this a very large book. In fact, it’s 850 pages in length. It may seem overwhelming but it’s content is organized extremely well, which makes it an easy read.

James A. Beverley, the author of this book, took on three decades of detailed work in order to create this wonderful resource. This book should be in the hands of every man and woman willing to learn about the other religions around them. I found this book a wonderful resource with it’s extremely detailed maps, charts, time lines, full colored illustrations, photos, and very helpful index. This volume  features all main religions as well other branches and within Christianity.

I like that this book is written in a compassionate way as to teach us to respect others  in what they believe, in a caring and loving matter as would Christ.  I believe as  Christians, we should know what we believe as questions of our own faith will arise from others around us.

This book is a well written comprehensive guide and I will hands down recommend it to anyone hankering to learn more about the beliefs regarding all the religions around them.

The NKJV American Patriot’s Bible

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

A You Tube video featuring  The American Patriot’s Bible and Sample PDF .

First and foremost, this is not your typical study Bible as it’s main focuses is on America’s Godly heritage. I am glad that someone decided to make a Bible that is intertwined with American History as that is what this country was founded on. Throughout this book, you’ll find 48 full-color insert pages presented in 12 for-page sections discussing different point in U.S. History.

I enjoyed reading about the leaders, and statesman; seeing the colorful illustrations and photos; being reminded of patriotic songs and poems by famous Americans. You’ll  find many great leaders mentioned in history from George Washington to our newly elected President Barack Obama. I was so encouraged to be reminded and learn a few new things in using this wonderful resource that reminds us how godly qualities in people made America the great nation that is is today.

The Large Print is a wonderful addition as is the family record section of this Bible. I know for years and years to come in my household this Bible will not only used by me but by my children and their children as well.   The American Patriot’s Bible is an ideal gift for veterans,  students of American history, and families in any christian home.

Share the joy and wonder of God’s Word with the children in your life.

I am so excited that I am able to review the Read and Share DVD Bible: Volume 1 movie for you all as part of Thomas Nelson Book Reviewers team .

I’m a christian, and I’m always looking for wholesome ways to share the word of God with others, especially children. I feel a special calling on my life as to work in areas where children are involved. So, I’m nit picky as to what christian curriculum or biblical resources that I present and support aiming that it’s all  biblically accurate.

After watching the Read and Share DVD Bible: Volume 1, I must say I am very pleased, I rated it 5 stars! This is probably best for younger children as the stories are meant to stick to the span of younger children, very simple but stick to the general point. The viewing experience is wonderful as it looks as if we are seeing an actual story book come to life! The colors are bright cheerful which is key when presenting something to young children.  The characters in the movie act out what the narrator explains and the music is a perfect fit, light and gentle.

Stories include: The Beginning, Adam & Eve, The Flood, Abram, Isaac & Rebekah, Jacob & Esau, Rachel, Jacob & God, John the Baptist, Jesus is Born, Jesus is Tempted, Jesus Love Children, and One Lost Sheep.

This video is great for family devotion time and even for  Sunday School. As each segment you can stop and discuss with your children and answer any questions that they may have.

You can purchase this DVD: (Retails $14.99) at Christianbook.com for $10.99, if you are looking for a steal.  It’s also available at many Christian bookstores, Powell’s Books,  Barnes & Nobel, Amazon and many other places online stores.
