Diane Birch – Bible Belt Music Review

biblebelt

As part of the One2One Network, I’m introducing you to singer/songwriter Diane Birch.

Diane Birch is a piano-playing preacher’s daughter with a shameless love for Sixties and Seventies soul and singer-songwriter pop.” She’s a well-traveled and worldly soul having lived from  Zimbabwe to South Africa and Australia, before finally landing in Portland, Oregon, as a teenager.

I enjoyed listening to her music. Diane’s voice is quite bluesy with a kick of jazz. I found her music also very similar to the uplifting revival music I grew up with in church as a child.  Overall I enjoyed listening to her songs which were all written by her in entirety. I completely respect and think highly of musicians that write their music!

Diana kept it real by sharing songs with her listeners that we can all can relate too. There were songs of heartache, love, loss, and the perseverance to keep on going.

If you are looking for a new artist with a sound of their own, do check out Diana’s Birch cd Bible Belt.

Sun Grubbies Brim Hat Review

100_9221
My daughter's face fully protected by the sun in her Pink Brim Sunhat!

Though my daughter was born during the summer last year and was used to wearing sun hats, this year has been a different story. She hasn’t been too fond of anything being worn on her head.  I know the best thing to do is get into a set pattern. If mommy wears a hat maybe she’ll get the idea that she should wear one too! But until my daughter will grasp this idea, I’m going to stick with keeping her safe and only putting on hats that may be harder for her to remove herself!

So my search for hat that would be per say hard for my daughter to take off was set into motion. Bucket hats wouldn’t work, nor would hats with velcro ties! My search ended when I found a Pink Brim Hat from a company called Sun Grubbies.

My thoughts:

This Pink Brim Hat is perfect in every way with it’s  50+ UPF/98% UV Block! It is lightweight, water resistant and has a 3″ brim which provides plenty of sunblock to protect my daughters face from the harsh rays of the sun! Oh, and my favorite feature about this hat is the adjustable chin strap! My daughter attempted to take off this hat and eventually gave up seeing with it’s strap it was impossible. She now happily wears this hat and stays protected during the summer. No more worries for this mom! Another note, if you are interested, this hats runs from sizes birth to 4t!

Buy it: Sun Grubbies also has a great selection of sun protective clothing, of cotton or nylon, with SPF 30+ for men, women and kids of all ages.

I was sent their ever popular Tower of Time Hand print Kit  to review. This kit included separate sized tins running from age one through five.  Every one of the tins are labeled with the words ” My Hand print when I was…”.  Each of these kits come in a variety of colors and are topped off with a cute bow, which makes it easy to give as a baby shower or birthday gift!

Last week, my daughter had her first birthday and I could not have received my very own Tower of Time Hand print Kit at a better time!  I am including a video in which I captured my daughter’s hand print to show you how simple this was to do.

I recall using different hand print kits as a child. I remember the mixture  being used was much thicker.  As you can see from my video, I test out this mixture several times myself before taking my daughters hand imprint. I was overall thrilled how this mixture was very forgiving! I just gave it a shake to even things out and was able to try again if need be. I also was really happy that no air bubbles were left whatsoever!

If you are looking to find a single hand print kit, to gift to the grandparents, Child to Cherish also offers those.

Happy First Birthday, Melody!

We celebrated today with visiting the local water gardens, spending the afternoon at the park, and opening presents! Melody had a whole lot of fun, as you can see from the above photo.  I can only imagine what’s to come with the days ahead.
