Early Spring Days

Bags of dirt, busy bugs, and bountiful expectant beds of the garden: we’ve been quite busy with all the tasks the spring season so often brings.

Our Spring Break has been filled with sunny days, perfect for preparing the garden for planting but not just. We have sown several new plants alongside those we grew last year, but we still have more to do. Last week, we planted radishes, snap peas, lettuce, and kale!

I’m testing an environmentally safe weed barrier that decomposes naturally and is non-plastic. I’ll provide updates on how this material performs. I’m really excited to see if it keeps the thistles and other choking plants away from our vegetables and herbs!

I’m currently battling an illness that my youngest child just recovered from, so I’ve slowed down on working in another area that I plan to set up for crafts, art projects, enjoying meals outside, our Summer schooling and general socializing. I’m excited to share its progress as soon as I can get back to it. It will be so pretty with wild flowers and herbs if all goes as planned.

How is the early Spring season treating you?
