Summer Reading Grand Prize Winner!
My children received their first library cards this year and have been steadily reading wonderful books throughout the spring and into the summer. They joined the local reading program and have been enjoying the weekly prize incentives for filling out their reading logs and returning those each week till the program was over in hopes of winning the grand prize!
This week, my son received an email that he had won the grand prize, a Sega Home Planetarium Projector! He said when he found out that he won the Sega Homestar he was very excited and happy and he couldn’t wait to try it out. It is certainly a grand and wonderfully educational prize!
We love our town’s library, despite its small size, it is a treasure trove of information. We enjoy chatting with the librarian, recommending books for others to borrow, learning about exciting events, feeling part of the community, and the affordable, wonderful selection of titles that are not available for borrowing which changes weekly.
One of my favorite discoveries at our local library is part of a 100-year-old collection of classic tales which I claimed for just $5.00. My eldest daughter has also used her earnings to buy her own beautiful set of books with lovely covers, which I will have to share here soon.
Make sure to utilize all the resources your local library has to offer. It’s worth taking the time to explore and benefit from everything available to you. I’ll be spotlighting ours here in the future a bit more!
