Exquisite Events: Empty Bowls, a Fundraiser to Fight Hunger

Annually, the Columbia Pacific Food Bank plays a vital role in the global fight against hunger and food insecurity through an impactful fundraiser known as Empty Bowls.

This year was the first time I proudly took part in raising funds for the St. Helens-based food bank, a crucial effort that directly supports our local community through this event.

The event is supported by many local businesses and by the artist Pat Brame. Pat, famous throughout Columbia County freely donates 300 beautifully handcrafted Bowls each year for this event. These bowls offer a unique variety in color, shape, and size being a welcome addition to any home.

The event features soups and bread from local restaurants to enjoy as well as live music entertainment. This year the music was provided by the band Decades.

My daughter, friends, and I had a great time at this event, seeing all the wonderful things people are doing to help others. The tickets were only $15.00 and got us each a lovely handcrafted bowl, a delicious dinner, and some great entertainment for the evening. It was such a heartwarming experience and an incredible reminder that people throughout the world need each other.
