Exquisite Events: Cowlitz County Fair and Rodeo
The Cowlitz County Fair and Rodeo in Longview, WA, nestled in the picturesque Southwest Washington, was an absolute delight to visit this year!
The event, which is completely free to everyone, is typically held during the last week of July and spans three consecutive days. It offers the community and the surrounding area an abundance of activities, shows, arts, carnival rides, vendors, and more to enjoy.
My youngest had not been to the fair before and tagged along with me. She enjoyed her time and was especially intrested and in awe of the many animals showed cased by the 4-H club, FFA, and live stock youth market. Animals included chickens, cows, pigs, goats, horses, sheep, geese, ducks, fowls, llamas, and bunnies to see, pet, and learn about.
The animal exhibits got my daughter excited about raising her own animals in the future. The different breeds and species were vast. We enjoyed learning a little bit about each and seeing them all up close and personal.
I personally enjoyed seeing all the handcrafted items such as knit, crochet, quilts, baked goods, jams & preserves, and much more. The photography and art exhibits were equally engaging as was the flower and plant exhibits in one of the many halls located on the grounds.
The fair is filled with tons of information and a way to expose yourself to new and old crafts, skills, and more. It’s an awesome place to hang out with friends and family, and meet all kinds of people while learning about so many amazing things!
We enjoyed our time and plan on going again next year. If not this fair, I recommend checking ones out in your local communities if able.
