Pure Flix Original Movie: Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters arriving on August 1st!
Children grow up in a blink of an eye, After we are comfortable in one stage, another begins, We often aren’t ready for such big changes and can struggle in learning how to let go and grow! Whether reaping from our own upbringing or looking to other sources, guidance in this area can sometimes be difficult to find, especially for Fathers.
On one of our recent family movie nights, my husband, children, and I sat down to watch Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters, A movie inspired by Dr. Meg Meeker’s best-selling book of the same name. This film communicates the importance a father can have on his daughters’ life in a truly profound way when he trust’s God with their future and puts his own intentions aside.
The movie is about a father who believes he has everything going according to plan until life throws him a curveball. It takes him and his family on this spiral when his oldest daughter who made a life-altering decision and is seeking his blessing before tying the knot. And to make things a bit more complicated, she is choosing to live and minister overseas instead of working at his side as his business partner with a solid income and position.
This film is amusing with laugh-out-loud moments, heartwarming with tender sweet moments, and completely gut-wrenching with potential life-altering situations. I feel the family dynamics shown are relatable in having the same feelings and desires for our kids to go a certain way but to look beyond what we want and give them fully to God. To be available, supportive, and offer forgiveness to our children and vice versa when mistakes happen is demonstrated in this film very well. Growth and change for the better despite past, present and future mistakes are a must to maintain healthy communication and strong family ties.
Overall, my family thoroughly enjoyed this film and encourage everyone to see it. It is clean being 100% family friendly and the runtime is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
