Farm to Fork to Love {Movie Review and Where to Watch!}

Spring has sprung and with it comes many more wonderfully fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, and other tasty goods at local Farmer’s Market both near and far. Speaking of farm-fresh, I recently saw a family-friendly film in the last few days called Farm to Fork to Love. The film revolves around delicious local foods among other things enveloping an annual fundraiser cooking competition that I found an interesting watch.

The story is about a young and talented sous chef that works at a New York top restaurant. Though only a sous chef, she is held back by offering more than just what’s on the menu which she has pretty much no say on. She receives an invitation to judge a food competition for a prestigious annual fundraiser and decides to go despite her boss who is also her boyfriend’s dismay.

While on the trip she meets a fellow classmate and old boyfriend and begins to question her current life choices and dreams that seemed to have gotten buried. Not only does this film focus on Alice but gives plenty of storylike/screentime to a few of the other characters as well.

The storyline was interesting though there weren’t any truly surprising plot twists. I enjoyed the beautiful countryside scenes, fun farm animals, and the hands-on cooking in the kitchen. The food throughout was truly amazing looking and with that said, I wouldn’t recommend watching without a delicious snack or meal on hand.

This film touches on dreams, beauty/art, love, responsibilities, and growth, I like how it shed the light on loving what you do instead of just trying to make a larger profit and lacking pretty much any creativity whatsoever. It also does well to show that with the right person you shouldn’t have to give up who you are and what you enjoy doing either to be together.

I felt the film was decently done. Nothing felt forced or out of place. The music was relaxing. This is a family-friendly movie though I feel it mostly would be enjoyed by ladies that love romance flicks. The run time is 1 hour and 25 minutes.
