The Flirtation Experiment {Giveaway + Book Review}

Sometimes you can’t always wait for what you want and hope to happen without a little bit of intention. We all know without daily persistence in our busy and sometimes hectic lives (more so lately than ever before!) that relationships can often get put on the back burner starting with those closest to us like in our marriage. This is where books like “The Flirtation Experiment” can really help put that “spark” back where it belongs.

This book is written by two ladies one married for 7 years and the other nearly 30. This book is intended for married Christian women of all ages no matter how long they’ve been together with their spouse. If you are looking for a complete do this or do that guide, you won’t find it on these pages. In knowing every situation and personality is different, they offer suggestions (“experiments” ) of what they tried on their own husbands.

The book spans over 30 chapters with each author covering different topics such as; affection, passion, playfulness, kindness, desire, adventure, laughter, celebration, attraction, connection, vulnerability, mystery, affirmation, refuge, friendship, delight, respect, romance, intimacy, blessing, generosity, rest, thoughtfulness, comfort, faith, tenderness, covenant, hope, healing, and joy.

The chapters are filled with stories and scripture to back up what the Bible says about certain topics. Each chapter is lain out as follows; they recognized and assessed the situation, formed a plan and followed through with the plan, and let us know the final results.

Overall, this book has been a great reminder that sometimes we just need to take a few steps forward instead of waiting for the other person. I enjoyed the stories and found myself relating to many in how I also perceived things. I feel just reading through and applying some of the concepts can prompt a deeper more fulfilling marriage relationship with your spouse as God intended for it to be. I recommend picking up a copy!

Note: It is important to note that this book is not meant to fix an abusive/narcissitic relationship and counseling should be sought in that case.
