Our First Snow Day of 2020!

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning! Honestly we really weren’t expecting it at all since a week ago the weather was predicting snow for several days and we got nothing. It melted by noon but we went out in it for just a bit ( Have to get those snow day selfies and all that!).

Melody built the little snowman above (instantly the song “Do You Want to Build Snowman” comes to mind). Our kids have never seen a real huge snow like I had growing up. In my parents travels, I once lived in Pennsylvania and Maine. Those states were abundant in snow and in all honestly not that special to the local residents especially when it could start in October and not melt till almost May! The world shuts down here when it snows here but there life continued on as usual.

Winter is far from over so we may yet see more snow here in the valley. I state specifically valley so you know that many places in Oregon ( Mountains and further North!) do get snow in the Winter but not typically where we live which is about a 1/2 hour drive from Portland.
