An Old Fashioned Christmas: Favorite Yuletide Quotes and Traditions {Book Review}

 An Old–Fashioned Christmas is a book that is taking up residence on my coffee table during the holiday season this year.  It is basically a bite size collection of quotes, sayings and anecdotes from world leaders, ministers, philosophers and comedians with their pondering on the Christmas holiday.  

The cover features an old time looking Santa delivering gifts with a few of his helpers. The back cover of the book features a quote from Charles Dickens which reads “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year” framed in holly leaves all around.

The book has 112 pages with multiple categories.  The categories are as follows;

• The Spirit of Christmas
• Selflessness
• Humor
• Family and Friends
• Faith
• Through the Eyes of a Child

Each of the shared quotes, sayings and so forth features drop cap typography as the first letter. This specific letter is green in color and gives a nice decorative touch. There is also a green colored holly border at the top and bottom of each of the pages.

This book is hardcover format and 7×5 in size. It’s lightweight so it lends to traveling well in a pack, purse, or tote for whenever the spark arises to read it. It also is the right size to slip into a Christmas stocking!

An Old-Fashioned Christmas is a fun little read to pass the time here and there that has a true possibility to spark some holiday cheer and inspiration in the readers heart in bringing new meanings to their Christmas season. Recommended!
