Simple Joys by Candace Payne {Book Review}

Candace Payne’s joy is truly contagious and not just over the viral video that most know her for.  We get to know more about this sister in the Lord through her book Simple Joys as she challenges us and shares about discovering wonder in the everyday.

What an absolute delight this book has been. Reading the author’s words as she shares her stories feels like sitting across from a dear friend over a cup of coffee or tea. She has a way of drawing you in and keeping you there from start to finish. Needless to say, this book was a very quick read for me! It’s not huge but definitely leaves one with big feelings.

In talking ab0ut joy and happiness, I like how she doesn’t sugar coat and stray away from sharing the hard parts of her life. She, in turn, opens up and bares her soul in how she got through those times so that like her we can look up in such times to find that joy that God so wants us all to have.

There are eight chapters in this bite-sized book. Throughout are lovely styled illustrations in the form of typography that either spotlight a Bible verse or a saying of some sort. At the end of each of the chapters, we are challenged with a question pertaining to the reading. The final pages of the book are lined for notes you may want to take of perhaps something that stood out.

This book is pretty. The hardcover is strong and durable making this a nice book to travel with without worry of it wearing out. It would make a great gift for a friend or loved one that needs some encouragement or for yourself. I enjoyed this book and am excited to see what else Candace may be putting out into the world to share.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from BookLookBloggers.
