SATELLITE GIRL AND MILK COW {Review and Giveaway of 3 Copies!}

On June 5  a charming fantasy/science fiction romance film “Satellite Girl and Milk Cow” is being released through Shout Factory on Blu-ray/DVD. This is an animated film from Korea that is best suited for older children. There is no MPAA rating but parental guidance is recommended.

Our Thoughts…

We sat down and watched this movie together as a family recently and I asked my husband his first initial thoughts on it and he replied, ” It’s whimsical, fun and internally consistent. I couldn’t agree more. What drew us to this movie was the fact that it was a little out there, pretty different, and amusing. Amusing in the sense that there’s a wizard that’s a roll of toilet paper, a broken-hearted guy that gets turned into a milk cow, and a satellite that fell in love and left space for Earth in search of that feeling that makes us all do a few things that others would consider crazy.

In this world, things don’t make a ton of sense outside it but it makes perfect sense in this fantasy science fiction romance. The story was completely brand new and not something based off anything else we’ve ever seen. This is a movie about falling in love, getting your heart broken, and coming to realize what love truly is. It gets messy with an incinerator monster, illegal characters searching for parts to sell on the black market, and wily pig witch.

I feel this film has themes that likely would go over the head of younger children hence why it’s more suitable for perhaps the 10 and up crowd. My family overall enjoyed this film and found the short film in the bonus section interesting as well. We recommend seeing it!
