Learning to Press On

Learning to Press On

When it comes to life, it certainly can be difficult and challenging. It is hard to persevere when trials and pain come to an individual or a family. However, there are three tips that can help people press on when tough times come.

What Comes First

Before going any further, think about what needs to happen before making a decision about what to do when trials come. Before doing anything else, remember to pray. Jesus tells His people to pray in Matthew 7:7. Remember that prayer does not have to be fancy or grandiose. Instead, remember to keep it simple and to the point. God hears believers regardless of their many or few words that they pray. The point that God makes is that people need to come to Him when in need. He hears and answers each one according to His will.

Get Encouragement

Life is not meant be lived alone. There are helpful resources that are intended to help people with their needs. Websites, such as HeartsofGod.org, can provide encouragement when people feel down or discouraged. Another helpful resource is the local church. The church has been described as the body of Jesus Christ, as it says in Ephesians 5:23. Christian believers can be encouraging and helpful when people are struggling.

Be Active

Another way to press on is to focus on the needs of others. Getting involved in a volunteer project at a local church, school or shelter can help keep things in perspective for people who are going through a difficult time. Although there are many needs in the world, perhaps the best way to begin is to consider thinking about a neighbor, friend or family member who needs help as well.

Everyone, at one point or another, will face challenges and difficulties. That is part of life. Fortunately, people can turn to Christ for help. He will help and enable them to press through the trial or even get through the day. Always start with prayer, and God will provide guidance and direction to enable people to move forward.
