Christmas Papercrafting: Holiday Cards, Gift Tags, and More is a wonderful collection that captures the joy, festiveness, and fun that the season has to offer. Inside there are greeting cards, mini cards, gift tags, bookmarks, envelope templates, frameable art, and a plethora scrapbook paper. Whether well seasoned in this craft or a complete beginner, I feel strongly there’s something inside for everyone.
Scissors are something to have on hand when using this book but aren’t required for everything. The gift tags feature perforated edges and so do other things like the frameable art, bookmarks, cards, and so forth. I love this feature as it makes some of the tagging of presents, decorating, and preparing greeting cards to go by at reasonable pace.
I like that there are suggestions on how to create a few different things. The project ideas are crafted cards, envelopes, gift tags, bookmarks, mini cards, and frameables. The project section is clear to understand decked out with full-color-photos and helpful information on how you might want to go about decorating and embellessing.
I love the project that shows how to attach a tassel to a bookmark as well as the project that shows how to craft a fridge magnet. One of the easiest things to do right away for instant gratification are the craftable frameables if you have a few picture frames on hand. Just remove and place in your desired frame and it adds a festive cheer to any given space right away! I absolutely adore the “All You Need is Love & Hot Cocoa” design and framed it right away to place in my kitchen for the season.
A complete list of what’s inside:
- 50 Christmas Greeting Cards
- 16 Holiday Gift Tags
- 18 Yuletide Mini-Cards
- 6 Festive Bookmarks
- Large & Small Envelope Templates
- Large-Format Art Frameables
- 34-page Seasonal Scrapbook Paper Gallery
I feel that one of any age can benefit and use this book. I plan on having my nine-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son work on a few of the to color card designs inside. They will also help me remove the gift tags for presents for friends and family. We are only limited by our imagination. I see a lot of use coming from this wonderful paper crafting book.
There are snowmen, gingerbread houses, holiday word art, penguins, snowflakes, mittens, kitty cats, chalkboard looking designs, religious, Santa, and winter wonderland themed designs to use.
The paper isn’t flimsy. The perforated edges are strong and tear straight down and across as intended without ripping. I do want to point out that some of the back pages have other designs on them where I had wished there wasn’t. This means that not every design inside can be used.
Things you’ll likely want to have at the ready is glue, a handheld paper punch, writing tools, gel pens ( if you wish), ribbon, thread, and some string. Of course, these items depend fully on what you’ll be wanting to paper craft.
This book is well worth the under $20.00 price tag. It has so much to offer. It’s saving me from having to purchase gift tags, cards, and so forth this year and likely the next as well. It definitely is a frugal choice if you are watching your budget. It’s a great choice for papercrafting alone or together!
I received a copy of this book from Fox Chapel Publishing. All thoughts expressed are my own.
