Jesus Always 365 Devotions for Kids {Review and Giveaway}

Jesus Always 365 Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young is geared toward boys and girls ages 8-12 years old. This devotion is different than most as it is written in a way as if God is speaking to the reader directly. The author explains her writing style and sticking as close to scripture as possible. So instead of the common use of He, words are used such as I, Me, My, and Mine as Jesus. When speaking to the reader the word you and your are used.  It’s very personal and it’s one of my favorite writing styles.

I absolutely loved the introduction of this book. The author sets you up for receiving Joy not just during the good times but the hard times as well. She encourages readers to look for the little treasures of each day whether it a cardinal flying, a friend’s hug, and so forth. She describes her “Thanks Book” and suggest keeping your own to remember and look back on during those really challenging times.

The devotions start in the month of January and end in December. Each features a date, title, beginning scripture verse and at the end a “Read on Your Own” additional scripture verse references to look up on your own. Sometimes you are looking up one or two verses and other days much more. I think it’s great so much scripture was included. This encourages one to really dig deep into the word of God using their Bible aside from just the devotional reading.

The book is roughly 8×6 inches in size. The size makes it a great choice to be easily taken along anywhere. If keeping this devotion at home, it’s sizing is perfect for a bedside table, desk drawer, or table top.

There’s a bookmark ribbon which I am so glad was included. It is helpful in not having to find a separate bookmark. Once in place, the ribbon stays waiting for you to read your next devotion the following day. It stays in place and doesn’t shift around.

I have enjoyed reading through these devotionals with my children. They are easy to understand. The devotions will help one learn the very character of God the father and how to grow as a child of God in every part of their life.

This devotional would make a wonderful gift in helping one connect on a deeper level with God. I highly recommend it.
