Jesus Loves Me (A Sing-Along Book) by Gynux {Book Review}

I must say I’m growing to really like the trend of the scripture verse, hymns, and religious song books that have hit the market for children.  Zonderkidz gave me the opportunity to review and share about Jesus Loves Me (A Sing-Along Book) by Gynux.

This book is pretty cute. It features woodland animals as the characters instead of people. There’s a weasel, rabbit, moose, raccoon, stork,  cat,  owls, hedgehog, fox, and a bear.  The book starts in the day and ends as the sun sets. We follow a group of animals throughout their day as they sing and play instruments to the song.  They parade over logs, along a path, as they prepare a meal together, around a campfire, and on their ways back to their homes.

The very last page features the musical score sheet music to the song Jesus Loves Me. This addition makes this not just a book for the littlest of children but also for slightly older children that may be learning to play this song on a Piano.  The sheet music only features the first round of the song ( but the book features the second and third round that’s often not sung nor remembered. I like all the rounds are featured and we can learn the whole song as it was written.  If a child is going to play the whole song, they can do so because the tune is the same for all rounds.

This book is great for beginner readers.  Even if they don’t know all the words, they’ll recognize them as words paired with music tends to be remembered far easier.

Whether read or sung this is a wonderful book to share. It’s size and durable board book pages and cover ensure it will last for years to come.  I can’t wait to discover the rest in this sing a long series.
