Winter is at our door knocking loudly. I wake to the brisk air in my bedroom and a chill to my whole being as soon as my feet hit the floor. I look out the window and it’s a frost covered wonderland. My mornings may be cold but I don’t mind. Once the coffee is going, I shortly after start my Maypo Oatmeal with Quinoa from Homestat Farm! A breakfast that is delicious, nutritious, and warms my entire being.
I’ve let my flock of chickens have a little bit and they gave it their seal of approval not leaving much of anything behind in the bowl. What can I say? I like to spoil myself and my hens on occasion with simply the best.
The new Maypo Maple Oatmeal with Quinoa, made by Homestat Farm combines maple-flavored, whole grain oatmeal with protein-rich, golden quinoa flakes. In addition to being a complete protein source, quinoa is a valuable source of certain healthy fats and is also rich in antioxidants. Just like the Original Maypo Maple Oatmeal, it is still low in sugar with all natural flavoring.
I have found it delicious. I only add butter to mine and it has just enough sweetness not to be flavorless or dull. My kids may disagree, however. They like a little bit of brown sugar on theirs. If looking for a breakfast that’s a little different and rich in protien, I recommend it. I usually have low iron but I’ve been feeling more energized starting my days with Maypo!
