Pop-up books ar so much fun. I love seeing the surprised looks on my children’s faces as they turn each page. The magic never seems to fade no matter what the age. Even I enjoy looking and enjoying this type of art form. Books like these make special occasions such as the Christmas Holiday season that much more fun knowing we’ll get to enjoy it year after year!
Just recently my family discovered The Christmas Story Pop-Up Book by master pop-up Robert Sabuda. This book features six religious inspired scenes of the birth of Christ. There are scenes of the angel telling Mary should be a mother of our savior, Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem, the stable and manger, the shepherds, wise men traveling, and ends with a beautiful nativity scene.
The story is simply put and easy to understand for all audiences. The pop-art is silhouetted ,white in color with added touches of gold colored foil. It’s beautiful to look at. The cover is hardback and the pages are sturdy. Perfect for children to handle on their own or in the lap of an adult.
The age recommendations are for 5-8 year olds but I feel any age would appreciate keeping this masterpiece around. My children ages 8, 5, and 6 months old seemed to enjoy this book quite a bit and are excited to add it to our Christmas book line up. We as a family recommend it!
