Say & Pray Devotions {Review and Giveaway}

Say & Pray Devotions is a book that can be used daily to help children learn important sight words, Biblical principles, and short prayers. The comes in board book format which makes it a great pick for children infant ages up to five years old. Colorful illustrations, common scenes, and many recognizable images throughout is perfect for little ones beginning to expand their view of the great big world around them.

The age this book would work well for is infants to kindergarten. I will read and flip through the book with six-month-old daughter throughout the week. She likes looking at the pictures as I read and point out things. My five-year-old son reads this book out loud at the breakfast table for his morning devotion. He can read most of the words but some he didn’t recognize but was able to make out because of the corresponding images. I’ve caught him reading this to his little sister a few times. It’s been a welcome devotional for my two youngest children.

There are twenty devotions. The themes vary from each one. There are scenes that would be common at home, the park, around town, and so on. This, of course, could be read all in one day but I think it’s best suited reading one at a time for practice. Each devotion features a title, a sentence that’s a truth, a simplified Bible verse and where it is found in scripture, and a short prayer. Each devotion covers the span of two pages. The spread has an illustration covered on both sides. There are always several words from each illustration labeling an item, person, etc on the pages.

The book is very simplified so I feel it would be best suited for younger children and beginner readers. If parents, teachers, or caregivers are looking for a perfect first devotional this one would be a good choice.
