NIrV Love Letters from God Holy Bible, Hardcover

The NIrV Love Letters from God Holy Bible, Hardcover is a good choice for children ages eight and up. This Bible features an easy to understand translation (written specifically for third grade reading level) that won’t frustrate kids. In keeping with the Love Letters line, this Bible gives readers prompts to help children connect to God in the form of writing. The letters are an adaption of God’s words and feeling towards us. These prompts can help children in their faith journaling and prayer time forming more than a habit but a conscious life choice in their walk with God.

There are 80 different topics that are featured in this Bible that prompt a letter written back to God. Letters include things like trusting in God, waiting on God, doing good, keeping the faith, and so forth. Each topic is based off a story or verse found in the Bible. The topic letter pages feature a short love letter from God, a small write back section, and a God’s Wonderful Words to You tag which has a Bible verse to remember. The pages are thin so I would suggest using a pen or pencil that is suited for use on Bible pages.

Throughout the Bible there are highlighted verses that should be remembered or cherished. The highlighting is done in a very light blue ink, almost so light you can’t see it. I wish it was done in a gray or another color that was more prominent. The back of the Bible has many pages for notes,  a dictionary, a Great Bible stories page with where to find it,  and features full-color maps.

Overall, this is a nice starter Bible. I specifically love the version this one comes in.  My 8-year-old daughter found this Bible easy to read and understand and liked reading all the extra. The hardcover is nice and I love there’s ribbon bookmark attached for one to keep their place until reading again.
