Christmas Quiet: Receiving the Gift of His Presence {Devotional Review}

Christmas Quiet: Receiving the Gift of His Presence is a 25 day devotional coloring book to take one through the Holiday season. This book offers one the chance to calm their mind, reflect upon the reason behind why we celebrate this time of year and be encouraged in Christ alone.
The devotions start on the 1st of December and come to a close on the 25th of the month. There is a title to each devotion, followed by a full scripture verse, the devotion text,  and each ends with thought to think about and exercises to further the study. Each devotion can be read in about five minutes time. In the back of this book,  there’s a section to write down quiet reflections.

Following each devotion is a picture to color. All of the illustrations have words or sayings tied into them. The back of each page is left blank so there’s need to worry about art mediums bleeding through onto a page with print. I would recommend if coloring with a bleed-able art medium to place a thin piece of cardboard behind the page while coloring so it doesn’t seep through to other pages.img_20161022_110722

The illustrations do tie into the daily reading. The thickness of the lines on the images makes this book easy to color with crayons, colored pencils, makers, and other not so fine tipped coloring tools.

I enjoyed the devotions I’ve read. The relatability from the personal stories shared by the author I can connect with. This is a great coloring book and devotional combination to enjoy during the month of December that encourages us to keep Christ in Christmas.
