Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories
by Bonnie Rickner Jensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories by Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Robert Dunn is a beautiful book. Children will be swept away by the serene scenes and the truth that God loves them very much and will always be there.

In this book, there are over 90 stories taken from both the Old and New Testament. There are stories of Jesus, Jonah, Daniel, David, and much more. The illustrations are done well. The colors are rich and the imagery portrays what’s going on in the stories perfectly. I found I enjoyed seeing each picture just as much as my children.

Each story begins with a title, scripture reference, a story written in rhyme, and a bedtime prayer. I feel that since the story is written in rhyme it will be remembered more. I didn’t feel that any of the rhymes were forced. The rhyming made the story easy to read and simple to understand.

This storybook serves as an excellent jumping point to discusses these important stories further. Parents or caregivers have a wonderful resource in this storybook. I adore the fact there are many stories within that aren’t commonly found in most Bible storybooks such as the story of the Ethiopian, Nehemiah, Gideon, and so forth.

The book isn’t too big or too small. It’s just right. There’s a gold colored ribbon bookmark to keep place until the next bedtime story is read. Its hardcover format ensures the book will hold up well with use after use.

I feel this book is best suited for boys and girls ages 4-8 years old. I recommend this book whole heartily.
