The Chefast Herb Scissors set is perfect for the gardener, chef, or crafter! Whether the use is for paper crafting, shredding, or making a culinary masterpiece this tool has got you covered. I’m all for multi-purpose but I wouldn’t recommend using the same pair for the kitchen, home office, or craft corner.
I’ve dedicated my pair to the kitchen. In having used these for a few weeks now I’ll state that these have cut (no pun intended) prep time literally in half when it comes to preparing fresh herbs. You could use them for dry herbs but I feel they work best on fresh. Dried ones tend to go all over when cut so it’s best to leave those to the mortar and pestle.
I favor greatly that these scissors have a safe guard protective cover that doubles as a cleaner/scraper. It slides onto the end of the scissors easily when not in use. When need to clean or scrape herbs out between the blades you simply flip the cover and do so. When not in use I simply slide the cover back on and store in my knife drawer. The blades of these scissors are very sharp so I make sure to keep these out of the reach of my children safe guard or not.
These are dishwasher safe but I just wash and dry by hand to ensure the longevity and potential rusting.
I found these to work really well when cutting up herbs like fresh cilantro, chives, and basil. It’s made throwing together salads, sauces, and so forth fast! It says the five blades equal 10 knife chops!
