I Can {Book Review}

I Can by Kathryn O’ Brien, illustrated by Gillian Flint is a great scripture memorizing offering for children. This book focuses on the verse Philippians 4:13 which reads “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength”. I learned this scripture as a child through a song but feel this repetitive written in rhyme book would work just as well and in a way better! Children are given wonderful visuals and this verse is broke down focusing on the meaning of each word in the verse! It’s an excellent teaching tool for at home, school, or church classroom setting!

My son is five years old. He’s an early reader and can read most of the words in this book all by himself. He’s brought this book to me on many occasions asking to read it to me or have me read it to him again. I can’t think of a better book to be focused on! He’s learning the Word of God and sharpening his reading skills. The repetitiveness doesn’t get old. I love he’s learning God’s truths for his life and not just memorizing a verse such as this one but understanding what it means!

I highly recommend this book and am excited to invest in the others by in this series!
