Angles in the Bible Storybook by Allia Zobel Nolan and illustrated by Alida Massari is a treasure to our home book collection! This offering explores all the places in the Word of God that Angels are mentioned. It’s a fascinating look into how God’s helpers took on many forms and were used to help those that trusted and believed in Him when most needed! I am glad even though this is a book that focuses on Angels that it doesn’t ever speak of them as being higher or more important than God but instead as creatures whoms soul purpose is to do his bidding.
This book features both Old and New Testament stories in which Angels are mentioned. Stories such as Daniel in the Lions Den, A Talking Donkey, Rescuing Lot, Jail Break, and Mary being visit by an Angel are just a few to be read. Well known, people such as Abraham, Zechariah, Lot, Elijah, and Isaiah and many more are just several characters that were graced with an Angelic experience! The stories are written in a point of view perspective. All stories have a title followed by where it can be found in scripture. Many of the stories have an interesting fact and others end with a verse from the Bible.
My children ages 7 and 5 years old are always intrigued when this book is read. It’s been perfect for family reading time as well as for bedtime story time. My 7 year old can easily read this book on her own. My son age 5 is an early reader but the wording is a bit beyond on him. Comprehension of the story at hand is easily understood by both my children. They told me they’ve enjoyed the illustrations and have found it a delight to learn about Angels. We see them as messengers, guards, warriors, and in other roles. I personally didn’t realize just how many times Angels are mentioned in the Word and have quite enjoyed this book myself too!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book from Zonderkidz in exchange for an honest review.
