The Adventure Bible version of the story of how Paul Meets Jesus is good way to introduce children to a man that disliked Christ followers but eventually become one himself. This story starts out back when Paul was known as Saul. Children will see how he threw Christians in jail and he tried absolutely everything to make their lives hard. However one day on the road to Damascus, Saul meets Jesus and his entire life changes for the better!
In learning how Saul became Paul, children will be walked through some of journey including when he meet Ananias, his many travels, and when he found himself in prison. I feel this reader is best suited for children as young as four and as old as eight. Any younger and I feel the story wouldn’t be understood. Older children would benefit from a deeper account of Paul’s life than this offering. But for whom the book is geared for, it is perfect!
This story is explained in a way children can easily comprehend. It’s not really simplified from what one would take directly from the Bible, which is appreciated. The illustrations are done exceptionally well in displaying the expressions and feelings on the faces of everyone involved throughout the tale.
My seven year old daughter found the story easy to read and comprehend. The book is 32 pages long and can be read in 5-10 minutes depending on the reading level of a child.
At the end of the book there’s a page that a page that features People in Bible Time with a short bit of information about Saul/Paul, there’s a Bible verse and an area called Did You Know which gives some important information on discipling! I highly recommend this book! It’s a great way for a child to learn about of God can truly transform anyone willing to accept him!
