Owen turned five years old on the ninth of this month! His birthday kicked off the first in our family for the year. We had a small celebration over a few days. He requested a Batman cake that was chocolate and to go to a pizza place. We invited family out for pizza and they shared gifts with him there. The plus side of going out to eat for birthdays and holidays is no clean up, not having to worry about hosting in too small a home ( our place is pretty tight!), and it’s pretty memorable. Owen really enjoyed it. I wasn’t feeling well due to the iron deficiency in pregnancy and a bad migraine but was able to make it… can’t miss a celebration of my son!
Gifts! He received LEGO sets, Gift Card to the LEGO store, Dr. Seuss Books, and Hotwheels cars. You can’t go wrong with any of those three. He’s been getting more into reading so I’m glad Grandma was able to find the books I suggested to her to get!
We’ve yet to make it to our local LEGO store so he can make some custom mini figs and other creations but we plan on going soon! The week following his birthday was a bit crazy with car issues but that seems to be behind us for now. A belated trip to the LEGO Store and local Aquarium will commence before the month is over! He knows we love him and things come up! So glad my kids are understanding.
Overall a nice low key birthday! We are all excited to see how Owen will grow and change during the time he is five!
