Our Thoughts…

God’s Good News Bible Storybook by Billy Graham is wonderful choice for daily family devotions or Sunday School Class reading. This storybook has been a hit with my nearly five year old son and my 7 1/2 year old daughter. Stories from both the Old and New Testament are included. There are are over eighty stories to be accounted for. A few of the stories such as God’s Job for Moses has several sub-stories to read each day about the journey and specific characters that can’t covered in just one daily reading.

Each story has a title, selected scripture reference, a short devotion, and words from Billy Graham on the story read. The stories aren’t long at take about 5-10 minutes to read and discuss. The stories are good. Our only con was that there were a few typos and that some of the sentences were worded in a slightly confusing manner. Theologically, everything is Biblically accurate.

The illustrations span the entirety of each page with the text placed accordingly. I feel that the illustration are done well and my kids enjoy looking at them. There’s a ribbon bookmark included to keep ones place till the book is read again. The pages are thick and glossy. The hardcover ensures this book will hold up well after being read over and over again. I would recommend picking up a copy of this book. I like that it features character stories such as Lydia, Deborah, Josiah, and so forth that aren’t often included in children’s Bible story books!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the BookLook blogger review program in exchange for an honest review.
