Koru Naturals {Schoolhouse Crew Review}
As part of the Schoolhouse Crew Review team, I’ve been given the opportunity to share my thoughts upon a few of the heath and beauty care products by Koru Naturals for second time this year! My family received their Skin Clear Cream, Manuka Honey Propolis Soap, and Emu Oil Shampoo and Emu Oil Leave-in Conditioner to use and share our thoughts upon. Since I am pregnant with our third child my husband Justin, will be sharing his thoughts on the Skin Clear Cream which is not safe for those carrying babies. Note that most Koru Naturals products are safe for pregnancy but it doesn’t hurt to contact customer service if intending on making a purchase to be on the safe side.

-The Products-
Manuka Honey Propolis Soap (4.93 oz | $7.90) The Honey & Propolis Soap smells wonderful, just like fresh honey straight from a hive! The combination of ingredients work very well together. I as well as my son tend to have a upswing of eczema issues during the cooler season, this soap has kept our skin moisturized and free from any skin irritations! The soap suds up pretty well and a little tends to go a long way. On the surface it’s embossed with a bee which makes it a fun soap for gifting. Overall, I think this is a great soap for its healing and skin hydrating properties. I like it’s gentle and mild enough for all skin types. I certainly recommend it.
Emu Oil Shampoo (8 fl. oz.) and Leave-In Conditioner (4 fl.oz.) The Emu Oil Shampoo has been doing wonders on my hair in combination with the Leave-In Conditioner. My hair not only looks healthier but feels healthier as well. This shampoo promotes shiny and healthy hair. The word shine isn’t always my favorite when it comes to hair care products because it makes me think of oily. My hair is naturally oily so the fact or adding additional shine to it with most products usually ends up making my hair look greasy. That is not the case at all with this shampoo and conditioner set.
I like that the ingredients are all natural. The combination of German chamomile, red clover, elderberry, and white willow-bark smell delightful to the senses. The shampoo lathers moderately well. It’s recommended to not blow-dry your hair after use. Heat can cause damage so I feel this is a good suggestion.
The Leave-In Conditioner spray works well. I apply it to damp towel dried hair and comb it through. I prefer this to using your typical conditioners that are left on for several minutes and then rinsed off shortly after. This spray is long lasting and keeps my hair looking good. My hair has been less frizzy and I’ve noticed almost zero split ends! It’s so nice for the tips of my hair not to look frazzled or damaged. The ingredients in this conditioner spray protect from things like UVB damage, split ends, breakage, and so on! It’s a great spray and I plan to continue using it as long as the company continues making it.
Skin Clear Cream (4 ounces | $19.20) – Since I’m pregnant with our third child I couldn’t personally review this product so I asked me husband if he would and he happily obliged to do so. Also note this product is not recommend to use on children under the age of 12. Here are my husband’s thoughts:
A great deal of my face is covered in beard, but I have the advantage of an enlarged forehead area due to my low percent hair coverage on my head. One area in particular, when left along, gets a little dry. Working in a low level clean room environment probably doesn’t help. But with one sole application of the skin cream, I had no dry skin for nearly a week! The cream is quite fluid, so be careful when opening it! There is an included spoon of sorts to gather and apply it. Also there’s a protective lid in addition to the twist off one to help prevent spills. The scent is a pungent sweet. Due to the aqueous nature, its easy enough to rub a little all over.
I didn’t use it more as it’s not recommended for children and pregnant women, and Erin is pregnant! While I don’t know much it would transfer via smell or touch, I didn’t want to take a chance. However, in other circumstances I would continue to use it more to see how well the effects continue.
