5 Minutes with Jesus By Shelia Walsh {Book Review}

Five Minutes with Jesus By Shelia Walsh is a lovely hardcover devotional book. The author shares short stories that will impact, convict, inspire, and move one to grow closer with God.  I like how even though the devotionals are shorter that there is still a lot to each of them to ponder and apply to my daily life.

In this book, there are 50 devotionals for daily reading. If read daily, this book will last one about a month in a half.  The book is in hardcover format and features an attractive blue and white floral design on the outer cover as well as on the inner-pages. I typically like to read my devotions in the early morning hours but that doesn’t always happen. So I appreciate even more the small size of this book. It’s size makes it easy to slip into a purse or tote to bring along with me wherever I may go and makes it always ready for whenever I have the time read it.

Every devotion begins with a title, short devotion with a point to ponder, and a five minutes in the Word section. The five minutes in the Word section list many Bible verses that correspond with the devotional. I like so much scripture is included! I can go over the scripture again and again and ponder it’s truths for my life and that’s something I very much appreciate.

The devotionals aren’t numbered or dated so there’s no pressure if you miss a day. I would have loved if there was a ribbon bookmark included in the book to keep my spot but it’s still fine without it. This book is a wonderful choice to bless someone else with or to keep for yourself. We all have busy times and seasons in our life, so it’s nice to have a Word of Encouragement to grow in God such as this to turn too. I certainly recommend this book.
