AYL Ultra Bright LED Camping Lantern {Review}

My family took the AYL StarLight 330 LED Lantern with us this year on a camping trip. We had gone back and forth on the idea of getting flashlights but went with this lantern option instead. The benefits of using this lantern we found to be quite favorable. What really drew us is the fact it has a very bright LED light (300 lumens) . It’s powered by 3 D size batteries that aren’t included but are pretty affordable to pick up at any store. The batteries seem to last quite a long time and the lantern while on puts off very little heat.

The design is really nice. The bottom can be turned open to reveal the battery holding area and it seals up tightly to keep anything from coming out. My kids couldn’t get this compartment open which is good for safety. There’s a singular button on the front of the lantern that you can press and cycle through three modes. The modes are bright, brighter, and a flashing mode that is best suited for an emergency situation. The top part of this lantern can be opened to reveal the bulb if it needs changing. I like I can turn the lantern upside down or right side up and utilize the hooks on both ends to hang this lantern up!

We’ve found this lantern to very hardy. It took a spill or two on our trip. It’s got rubber that’s sturdy and the plastic parts don’t feel cheap. It’s water resistant which is perfect for pretty much any of the element we’d come across while camping. It’s got a bit of weight to it because of the batteries but not so much that one would would tire of holding it if hiking.

We are thrilled to have it for a number of lighting needs whether for camping, hiking, working outside in the dark, or for power outage emergencies. In knowing that LED lights are guaranteed for up to 100,000 hours of use and never need replacing I feel this is the best choice for a mid-size lantern.
