My Mother’s Day was low key and I’m fine with that. The wind chime pictured above my son and daughter picked out for me as a gift! Isn’t it beautiful? They know I love Sunflowers and had been wanting a chime for the yard for a bit. What’s neat about this chime is that it’s also solar powered. At night, it emanates a soft glow in the center of the flower. It’s very pretty! There’s something calming about the chime sound it makes when a slight breeze comes our way. I love it’s not just a gift I can enjoy but everyone else too.
Sunday morning after church we had brunch at Burgerville and took advantage of the free Strawberry Shortcake or Strawberry Sundaes for Mother’s Day. Mom’s got one free and everyone else got theirs discounted. It was a last minute decision to go only hearing about it through Facebook the evening before! The weekend was pretty busy with my husband off doing a BBQ Class all Saturday and being gone for half a day on Sunday. Plans had been somewhat in the air revolving the events of this special day but I glad to just be surrounded with those I loved.
My daughter Melody is pictured above shredding cheese for our dinner of Fajitas. I love Fajiatas! The spices and the bell-peppers really make quite a meal. I was thrilled she offered to help make a special meal for me. The verdict was a delicious dinner made in love!
