Easter Stories and Prayers {Book Review}

Easter Stories and Prayers (Little Blessings) is a special edition! Children by nature are curious and have many questions when it comes to just about anything. For example, “What’s Easter really about,” & “Why is there a cross?” are questions that have come from the mouths of my own children. In recognizing this the author answers and explains the who, what, when, where, and why surrounding the story of Jesus’ resurrection in a way children ages 3-6 years old can easily understand.

This offering is four books in one! I’ll admit that the frugal and space saving side of me jumped for joy when I learned that! I’m sure I will not be the only one excited about this. The four Little Blessing books inside are:

* Why is there a Cross?
* Who is Jesus?
* What is Prayer?
* What about Heaven?

The book is written in a rhyming way that is easy to read and children to pay attention to. The illustrations by Elena Kucharik, draw children in and correspond well with the story being told with animated behavior and cheerful colors. Both my son and daughter have told me a number of times how much they love looking at the pictures as I read. At the top of many of the pages, there are Bible verse references that go along with what’s being read. I like that the verses are mentioned so we can go and look them up together as we are reading or at a later time.

I believe that this a great book to turn to during the Easter season to help children understand more about Jesus’ sacrifice, who Jesus is, the importance of prayer, and all about Heaven. This book makes for a wonderful resource for parents, Sunday school teachers, and even grandparents.
