Around the World with Kate and Mack {Book Review}

Around the World with Kate and Mack is an exciting book that my whole family has been enjoying over the last few months! Wycliffe Bible Translators released this title in the hopes to introduce Bible translation and its importance to children of all ages. I believe they’ve hit the mark in an exciting way!

This book takes readers all around the world following Kate and her bird Mack. The two teach us about different cultures, languages, countries, and facts that are fun and unique. I’ve been reading this book to my 4 and 6 year old. They told me the like the colorful illustrations and learning about different places in the world. I think the illustrations are excellent.

The books starts with an introduction to the characters and then goes through twenty countries starting with the letter A and ending with Z! Each country found in the book features not just illustrations but many have color photographs as well. There’s always a picture of what the country looks like on a map and an illustration of the flag too.

kate-mack-are-hereI love how this book encourage children to not just think about others but to pray for them as well! The Bible verse in this book is definitely ones to adopt into our hearts and keep always in our minds!

What takes this book to the next level for my kids are the interactive web-based activities which are found visiting this website: There are mazes, message decoding activities, sudoku, and more! These activities can be printed out and used for fun as well as educational use! I’ve found this book an excellent Geography choice that teaches the importance of Bible literacy for our homeschool studies.
