Life can be hard. Often, I find myself needing encouragement throughout the day to keep on persevering. I recognize the call and importance in starting as well as ending my day in God’s word but sometimes I just can’t find the time to do so for many reasons. However lately I’ve been reading 365 Moments of Peace for a Woman’s Heart: Reflections on God’s Gifts of Love, Hope, and Comfort. This devotional book offers short insights, reflect-able words, and Bible verses that reminds women of God’s love and plan for our lives.
The devotions start on January 1st and end on December 31st. Each devotion has a title, short text, a beginning as well as finishing Bible verse, and a prayer pertaining to the daily reflection. The verses in the book are taken from numerous Bible versions. I don’t mind the difference in Bible translations as each verse ties into the corresponding devotion without confusion.
This devotional is quite attractive. It’s small in size and that has made it easy to take along with me just about anywhere. The hardcover version of this book features soft pink and sandy colored imitation leather. The text on the outside front, side, and back cover is embossed. There’s an attached white satin ribbon bookmark to keep your place each day. The feel of this book is soft and smooth which makes it very nice to hold when reading. I can’t help but think what a lovely gift this would make for a woman of any age.
I’ve been quite blessed in reading this devotion. It’s just enough for those busy days. Sometimes I will dig a little deeper, reflect, and journal my thoughts on the topic covered for a particular day. The topics cover everything from losing faith and being discouraged and in turn finding hope, acquiring peace, being joyful, and knowing God loves us and never leaves our side!
