veggienight

My son age 3 1/2 and daughter age 6 are big fans of the Veggie Tales and as a Mom that wants to expose my children to quality entertainment am quite the fan too! If you haven’t heard tomorrow on August 5th, Veggie Tales: Celery Night Fever releases on DVD and digital download! If you are a fan of disco, friendship, fun, and forgiveness you are definitely not going to want to pass this film up. The Veggie Tales have been around for over two decades and continue pour life lessons of good moral values to children of all ages!

Ephesians 4:12 is the verse focused on in the story Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber bring to their viewers. This verse reads “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” The story is a fun one but also states the importance of forgiving one another just as Christ forgave us and how we should value and care for our friendships over our own selfish actions and feelings.

The story is about a local park in trouble of being destroyed and of Laura the Carrot working to prevent that from happening by reuniting the Groovy Brothers to play to raise funds. Easier said than done when the band separated long ago due to reasons explained throughout the tale. Throughout this adventure Laura and her friend Junior have a spat of their own. There was also Bruce Onion (voiced by: Terry Crews) making trouble nearly every step of the way! The characters were fun, the story engaging, and songs were a hit. Through out the whole story my kids were on the edge of their seats anticipating what was going to happen. They’ve already watched Celery Night Fever several times and I’m sure the message has stuck with them.

Movie runtime is 45 minutes and features six original. Both my kids sat through the whole thing and didn’t get bored or lose interest once! Bonus features include sing along songs for “Perfect Puppy” & “Together”. There’s a a behind the scene interview with Terry Crews I am Bruce Onion and additional downloadable activities.

Overall my entire family enjoyed this one and we highly recommend it for home and church use! You can find Celery Night Fever on Amazon.com right now for $9.96 and it’s eligible for free shipping! It would make a great movie to gift to the kids in your life right now especially since it’s back to school season and sometimes we know kids need that extra vote in knowing their worth in God.

Buzz: In addition to this newly released flick, in October there will be another new movie, leading up to their first-ever television series in November – only on Netflix. We are loyal Netflix subscribers and pretty excited about this big news!
