Review: Journals Unlimited – The Gardeners Journal

” Life is an adventure. It’s not the destination we reach that’s most rewarding.
It’s the journey along the way. So Write It Down! & treasure the memory forever…“. – Barbra Morina

Growing up, vegetables that were grown in our own garden or another tasted amazing. Partaking in the spoils was always extra special knowing all that love and labor that went into tending it till harvest day. I’ve wanted my own garden for a very long time. I believe it’s a wonderful way to educate my children on how to grow their own food and eat more healthy! It wasn’t till recently after 7 years of living in apartments and duplexes without yard that I finally have a bit of earth to do with what I will! A garden brings pretty endless possibilities and with that there’s so much to keep track of. Knowing I would want to keep track of the many things a garden entails I was pleased to discover that my favorite journal company offers a Gardener’s Journal for just that purpose!

gardeners-jounral-gardening-diary2The Gardening Journal offered by Journal Unlimited is a great way to keep track of your garden anytime of the year. The prompts you’ll find on the pages within start with Gardening Season followed by the date you write in for yourself. The journal is nice because it’s not pre-dated in any way offering more usability and no wasted pages! You’ll then proceed with the rest of the prompts and suggested ideas to write down which include; Weather (precipitation, temperature, sunlight, shading, other elements), Activities in the Garden (seeds planted, bulbs blooms, growth highlights), Maintenance (Planting, weeding, feeding, relocations, etc), Wildlife (Birds, butterflies, other critters), and on the back of the page with the prompts just mentioned there’s an entire page dedicated for any other of your gardening notes.

I really like that with this journal I can keep up with everything I need to and that there’s plenty of space for me to be as creative as a like. I plan to even paste photos on some of the pages to further track the progress of my gardening. I’ve so far written out the layouts of garden beds, when certain seedlings were started inside than moved outdoors, what insects have been seen, and how the weather tends to be affecting my garden for good or ill. I like that I’ll be able to look back from future planting seasons to see what I’d done and if there’s something I should keep doing or to try something different. I will one day pass my learning experience of gardening to someone else (perhaps one of my kids!) through this journal.

This journal is quite durable and it’s gender neutral. The colors you can purchase it in are dark green or natural kraft brown. I think the journal is very nicely bound and because of the generous size of 7.5″ x 9″ in. it’s always quick to find on my bookshelf when needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone (perhaps yourself) that may be a beginner or well seasoned gardener. I believe one can benefit greatly from keeping track with a well thought out journal such as this one!

Want one? The Gardener’s Journal on can be purchased for $18.95 and eligible for free shipping with Amazon Prime or orders of at least $35.00. Also this would make a wonderful gift for Mother’s or Father’s Day for those with a green thumb!
